MGA News July 2000

On Saturday 15 April, from the roof of the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, in damp, slippery conditions, around 100 daredevil fundraisers, including Professors Angela Vincent and Nick Willcox, abseiled down the building.

Money is still coming in but to date [1 June] the magnificent sum of £19,751.05 has been raised for MGA. The pictures show Mick Smith, who raised £6,528 thanks to his employer matching funds raised in his name and Joyce Colledge aged 75; our oldest participant who raised £1,198.50 .

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported this event, either through sponsorship or participation - many of whom knew nothing about MG or MGA beforehand. Also thank you to Gerrard McMahon, Michael Collins and Jenni Power, Regional Organisers for their hard work on this event.
