| Eight people ran for
MGA in this year's London Marathon This is how they did....
|
|
| Our fastest finisher
was Paul Moulton, who despite developing an Achilles tendon
problem the week before the race still managed a fantastic time of 2hrs
54min. He had a wonderful day out saying, 'Having now experienced the
London Marathon I have enormous respect for everyone who finishes the
distance, whether they run 2hrs 7min or 7hrs 2min.... you never know I
may be there again next year....'. Let's hope so especially as he
raised £1,300. |

| A little slower
perhaps, but just as enthusiastic were Kirstie and Philip McArthur
who raised £765. Despite being overtaken by a womble, 2 rhinos and
a birthday cake they still thoroughly enjoyed the day doing 'their bit
for the MGA'. |

| The biggest
fundraiser was a joint effort by Sarah Hooker and Ian Blacktop
who were inspired by Janine Telfer, a Myasthenic from Blackburn. Ian
finished in 3 hrs 55 min whilst Sarah running as a pink fairy finished
in 5 hrs 10 min. A good collection of family and friends assembled in
London to spur them both on and then they all gathered together for a
celebratory drink. Sponsorship is still being collected with over £3,200
raised to date.Cheers! |

Shirley Coleman who is 60 finished in just over 7 hours.
Having previously run the London marathon eight years ago she thought
she'd have a go again. She decided to split her sponsorship money
between two charities with the MGA receiving £322. She chose MGA
because her neighbour, Mrs Robinson, has Lambert Eaton Myasthenia
Syndrome or LEMS.
The final two runners who were both big fundraisers in this
year's London Marathon were Phillip Boyd (£1213) and Marcel Marsh
(£767). Well-done lads!
A big thank you to all our runners and sponsors from
everyone at the MGA |
