In a recent letter Mr Steven Collins said "bifocals with prisms are not available". I was told by different local opticians when I asked about bifocals with prisms it was a) impossible, b) only in distance lens, c) only in reading lens.
At the local branch of Vision Express, when I was asking the question once again, the very pleasant young lady who does the eye tests walked past the salesman. He asked her opinion, she said: "contact my 'old' tutor at City University"
After a very full test by a student under supervision at the university clinic, I came away with a prescription which Vision Express made up in an hour, and I now wear them all day, and enjoy normal sight.
